According to reports, customers reported the strange incident on social media.
“Frequent Gold and Platinum flyers report being stopped by security at Sydney, Cairns and Perth airports,” the site reports.

Meanwhile, if you don’t have the status, you’ll soon be able to hit the fancy lounges.
Qantas is investigating one cheap 28-day “subscription model” for access to the renowned airport lounges.
Qantas Club memberships are currently sold as one-, two- and four-year packages, priced from $600 to $2,000 plus a one-off joining fee of $99.
Should this new proposal develop, new members could gain access to select Qantas-branded lounges for 28 days, with memberships automatically renewing unless canceled.
