Republicans are celebrating after Donald Trump declared victory in the 2024 US election, and congratulations have started pouring in.

Tesla founder Elon Musk was among the first to declare victory for the Republican leader, often posting on X on election night.

Among the posts is a picture of Musk holding a bathroom sink photoshopped into the Oval Office with the words “Let that sink in,” a reference to how he branded his controversial takeover of X back when it was still known as Twitter.

Musk also shared a photo of the conversation he had with Trump while the votes were being counted.

“The future will be like that [fire]” Musk said with an American flag emoticon.

“The future is going to be fantastic,” he said in a subsequent post alongside a photo of his recent SpaceX rocket test, which Trump discussed at length in his speech.

Divisive podcaster Joe Rogan shared a video of Trump’s victory announcement, with the simple caption: “WHOLE. LEE. SHIT.”

Thousands of Trump fans showed up at Mar-a-largo to celebrate the victory.

MAGA fans turned to Xu — Musk claimed “record usage for this platform” on election night — with the trending topics “Trump” and “Congratulations Trump.”

El Salvador President Nayib Bukele was among the first world leaders to congratulate Trump on his victory.

“Congratulations to the President-elect of the United States of America, @realDonaldTrump. May God bless and guide you,” he wrote.

Billionaire and American businessman Mark Cuban also sent his congratulations through the platform.

Earlier, Kamala Harris fans on the platform hoped the blue walls would stay blue, highlighting her path to victory.

Before the election was called, popular Democratic political content creator Harry Sisson said America had “failed women.”

Sisson has more than a million followers on TikTok.

The reaction of other young voters appeared to be a mix of disappointment and hope, as they took to social media to voice their opinions.

In the afternoon, the vice-president announced that she would not address her supporters tonight.
