Fans Wicked screening pointed out an X-rated error on the box of Mattel toys produced for the franchise.

The Wicked the film, starring pop star Ariana Grande and actress Cynthia Erivo, is being sold with a limited edition Mattel doll available in Australia as well.

One customer in the US noticed that the link to the film printed on the back of some boxes was not sending fans to the website dedicated to the film as intended.

Instead, it sends people to a porn site.

“Official Mattel Wicked dolls link to a porn site on the box,” said user X who noticed the error, sharing a video pointing to the link.

Mattel intended to send users to WickedMovie.com, not the website printed on the affected boxes.

The Mattel dolls are available in Australia through Kmart for $49 each.

It is not clear if the misprint is on the packaging of the Wicked dolls sold at Kmart in Australia.

9news.com.au has contacted Kmart for comment.

Mattel released a statement yesterday apologizing for the mistake.

“Mattel was aware of a typographical error on the packaging of Mattel Wicked doll collections, sold primarily in the US, that was intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page,” the statement said.

“We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to correct it. We advise parents that the misprinted, inaccurate website is not suitable for children.

“Consumers who already have the product are advised to discard the product packaging or hide the link and may contact Mattel customer service for further information.”
