A love for beaches is something that so many people around the world share. But the question often arises; where are the best beaches?

Well, the answer may be much closer to home than many Australians realize.

The stars of Travel guides have traveled around the world. They’ve visited incredible places, but more importantly they’ve seen the best beaches the world has to offer.

But which stretch of sand is the best in the world according to the Fren family? Speaking to 9Travel, Cathy is adamant: “You just can’t beat Australian beaches”.

She identifies the Gold Coast and Newcastle as home to some of these spectacular natural landmarks.

“Newcastle has so many secret hotspots,” Mark agrees.

And it’s not just the beaches Newcastle is known for, as Cathy says she was “blown away” by Stockton’s sand dunes.

The family enjoyed it and were slightly terrified by the experience of cycling through the huge dunes, but would recommend a visit to anyone.

In addition to Australia, Victoria and Mark also remember visits to beautiful beaches in Milos, Greece, where they stayed in a modern villa with a private beach, and Waikiki, Hawaii, where Jonothan and Victoria learned to surf.

“One of my favorite beach experiences would have to be Hawaii, the beaches in Hawaii are amazing,” says Mark.
