Check your tickets! The mystery winner takes home the entire $50 million Oz Lotto jackpot

A South Australian player won the entire $50 million Oz Lotto jackpot in Tuesday’s draw.

The hunt for a lucky winner is now underway, but The Lott said it will wait until Thursday to announce the shop from which the winning ticket was purchased to give the winner time to come forward.

The winning numbers in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto 1608 draw were 1, 29, 20, 23, 34, 46 and 39, while the extra numbers were 42, 43 and 24.

In addition to the winning entry in Division One, there were 719,479 prizes worth more than $67 million in Divisions Two through Seven. This includes 10 division two winners who each took home $62,689.10.

“We don’t know much at this stage – (the ticket) has not been registered,” The Lott spokesman Matt Hart said on Sunrise on Wednesday.

“That’s why I couldn’t get back to them with the $50 million news.

“We know it was purchased from a lottery in South Australia in the Spencer Gulf area.

“It’s only a small region, but we have to release such details because it’s such a big prize. If you don’t mind a late Christmas present, it will be the icing on the cake.”

Hart said The Lott will pay out the winnings in one lump sum on Dec. 27.

“Oz Lotto pays out the full tax-free amount transferred to your bank account.

“People tell us that they keep refreshing their bank account screen before they see that amount, and then they take a screenshot of that amount because it’s never going to look that good.”

Hart reminded players to keep their tickets if they do not register them.

“That’s why you have to register your ticket,” Hart said.

“If you don’t, hold that ticket like it’s worth $50 million, because you’ll have to present it to us with that ticket to get the prize.”

“Everyone in South Australia, check your ticket. Even if you didn’t win Division One, there were 719,000 prizes worth $15 million to $16 million in Division Two to Seven.”
