Popular podcast host Joe Rogan officially endorsed Donald Trump ahead of the election, a move Trump’s team quickly touted as a major victory in the final hours of his campaign.
Rogan released his latest podcast on Monday, featuring a two-and-a-half-hour interview with billionaire X owner and chief Trump surrogate Elon Musk. Rogan then posted on X: “The great and mighty @elonmusk. If it wasn’t for him, we’d be screwed. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.”
“For the record, yes, it is in support of Trump. Enjoy the podcast,” he added.
The confirmation comes just weeks after Rogan interviewed Trump The Joe Rogan Experiencean interview that was months in the making for the Trump campaign and widely viewed by the former president’s advisers as the crowning success of their media strategy of targeting young men and low-probability voters by featuring Trump on podcasts aimed at the demographic.
Trump, who was on stage in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at his penultimate rally when Rogan gave his endorsement, was quick to praise the development.
“I just found out that Joe Rogan just endorsed me, is that great. Thank you, Joe. That’s so nice. And he doesn’t do that, he doesn’t do those things,” Trump said.
Trump said: “And he tends to be a little more liberal than some of the people in this room.”
Last week, Rogan announced on X that he had turned down an offer from Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign to do an interview.
“Also, for the record, the Harris campaign didn’t go through with the podcast. They offered a Tuesday date, but I would have to travel to it, and they only wanted to work for an hour. I feel strongly that the best way is to be in a studio in Austin ,” Rogan said. “My sincere wish is just to have a nice chat and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make that happen.”
The Harris campaign declined to comment on Rogan’s post.
