The National News Agency (NNA) reported airstrikes on the city of Almat in central Lebanon on Sunday. Lebanon’s health ministry said 20 people, including three children, had been killed there. Video from the scene shows at least one building reduced to rubble and heavy machinery trying to remove the debris.
A local member of parliament, Simon Abi Ramia, said: “The targeted house belongs to one of the known residents of the area and may have hosted displaced persons.”
Three people were killed in an attack on Mashghara, a town in south-central Lebanon, and an air strike was carried out on the town of Debaal in southern Lebanon’s Tire district, the agency added, while “intermittent Israeli artillery shelling continues on the town of Khiam.”
At least 2,513 people have been killed and 11,719 injured in Lebanon since Sept. 16, when Israel stepped up its campaign against Hezbollah, according to CNN’s records of Lebanese health ministry statements.
The latest attacks follow attacks on more than a dozen separate locations in Lebanon since late Saturday.
The highest number of casualties occurred in an airstrike on what the NNA said was a civil protection center linked to the Al-Rissala Islamic Scouts Association in the city of Deir Qanoun.
Seventeen people were killed in the impact, NNA said, adding that rescue teams were continuing search operations in the ruins. Video from the city showed extensive destruction.
Five people were killed in an airstrike on the town of Hanawaih, and strikes on buildings in nearly a dozen other locations were reported. In addition, artillery shelling hit the towns of Majdal Zoun, Tair Harfa, al-Dhaira and other places.
The Israeli military said on Saturday that the airstrikes were carried out in the areas of Tire and further north in Baalbek.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said late Saturday that the air force had “eliminated dozens of Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon over the past day.”
The IDF said on Sunday that rockets continued to be fired from southern Lebanon. “Approximately 10 missiles were identified as crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the missiles were intercepted and the rest landed in open areas,” it said. There are no reports of injuries.
In addition, in northern Gaza, at least 41 people died when Israeli strikes hit two houses early Sunday, according to the director-general of the enclave’s Ministry of Health.
dr. Muneer Alboursh said one of the houses was in Jabalia, while the other was in Gaza City. He added that at least half of those killed were children.
The IDF said it hit “terrorist infrastructure in the Jabalya area” in response to CNN’s request for comment.
“Those terrorists posed a threat to IDF soldiers operating in the area. Details are being considered,” the Israeli military said, adding that “numerous steps have been taken to mitigate the risk of civilian casualties, including the use of aerial surveillance and precision intelligence ” before the Sunday strike.
CNN has contacted the IDF for comment on the reported attack on a house in Gaza City.
dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, said the hospital had received “many distressed calls from people, including those still trapped under the rubble that we could not help.”
The reported attacks in Gaza come as a deadline from the US to Israel to improve humanitarian conditions in the enclave. Last month, the Biden administration asked Israel for “immediate and sustained action” for more aid to enter the belt within the next 30 days or risk violating US laws governing foreign military aid.
A World Health Organization report on food availability in Gaza concluded on Friday that there is a “high probability that famine is imminent in areas within the northern Gaza Strip,” where many of Israel’s recent operations have been focused.
The report cites UN data that the number of aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip is now lower than at any time during the past year.

Israel’s aid agency to Gaza rejected the claims, saying such reports in the past were “systematically based on vested interests and partial, inaccurate knowledge.”
In Syria, at least seven civilians were killed and 20 injured in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Sayyida Zainab area on the outskirts of Damascus, the Syrian state news agency SANA reported on Sunday, citing a Syrian regime military source.
SANA said that among those killed were women and children and that private property was damaged.
CNN reached out to the IDF for comment but did not receive a response.
Videos on social media verified by CNN show damaged buildings in Sayyida Zainab, with rubble strewn across the street. One video taken from the building shows damage to one of the upper floors of the building across the street. The footage then reveals damage and ruins on the ground floor of the building from which it was filmed.
The Sayyida Zainab area, south of the city of Damascus, is known to have a Hezbollah presence and has been under Israeli attacks in the past. On November 4, SANA reported Israeli strikes on Sayyida Zainab on the same day the IDF said Israeli air force warplanes attacked Hezbollah intelligence infrastructure in the Damascus area.
