So far, we’ve revealed the world’s most powerful passports for 2024, with Singapore taking the top spot.
And now the Visas for Future Sustainable Passport Index 2024 Index (SPI) has been released, ranking 180 passports based on that country’s environmental policies.
Scores are derived from 58 metrics drawn from government, nonprofit and education data, helping travelers understand the impact of their country’s environmental policies.
“The average international traveler produces about ten trees worth of carbon on an international flight,” says Constantine La, CEO of Visas for Future, a sustainable travel agency.
Here are the top ten most sustainable passports (including where Australia ranks overall).
Citizens with these passports can rest a little easier knowing that their country is doing things to improve their carbon footprint.
