Australian model and entrepreneur Lindy Klim has traveled the world. But there’s one place on her list she’s never reached.
Despite living in Britain for four years, Klim never made the short move to Spain.
She dreams of a ‘romantic getaway’ to the country
“I was a big traveler in my early teens, 18, 19,” she tells 9Travel.
“I visited all over the world and ended up living in Britain for four years. I don’t know why I haven’t been there.”
However, neighboring France is a favorite place for Klim. Earlier in her career, she regularly traveled there for Paris Fashion Week, where she hung out in the trendiest places
“We used the same L’Avenue for lunch and had the crab salad and Hotel Costes,” she says.
Meanwhile, she confesses that she doesn’t travel light. She said she always brings a suitcase, whether she’s going for two nights or two weeks.
Things Klim never leaves behind are her iPhone or her Bose noise-canceling headphones.
The mother now lives in Bali, but returns to Australia twice a month. She recently swapped busy Canggu for the more tranquil Uluwatu, and would recommend the resort to Australian holidaymakers.
“It’s very cold, there are the best restaurants and there are better beaches with white sand, it’s good,” she says.
As for the newest hotspots on the island, she recommends trying the new restaurant Kala Uluwatu. Miss Fish Bali in Canggu and Canggu restaurant-come-club Desa Kitsuné are also trendy at the moment, she said.
As a regular jetsetter, Klim is no stranger to staying in a hotel and has learned a few ways to score a bargain.
“I am a big believer in my points system,” says Klim, a member of the Accor Live Limitless/Accor Plussay.
“I fly platinum and it’s all linked to my Accor membership. I can get double points and ultimately I get free nights, early check-in and late check-out.”
Meanwhile, Klim’s favorite hotel in Australia is the Sofitel Darling Harbor – especially a club room.
“The view is breathtaking,” she says.
Abroad, she is impressed by the new Pullman Singapore Orchard, in the middle of the city’s shopping district.
