‘Wicked’ Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande salary disparity rumors debunked

Some on social media are saying that Ariana Grande is paid more Wicked than her colleague Cynthia Erivo, but the film studio sets the matter up.
Grande was rumored to have been paid as much as $15 million ($23 million) for the role of Glinda, while Erivo was paid $1 million ($1.54 million) for the role of Elphaba.
But the studio denies it.

“The reports of Cynthia and Ariana’s salary disparity are completely false and based on internet information,” a Universal spokesperson said in a statement shared by several media outlets. “Women got equal pay for their work Wicked.”
CNN has reached out to Universal for comment.
Both women have been praised for their performances in the Jon Chu-directed musical. Audiences flocked to theaters to enjoy the first part of a planned two-film franchise.
Wicked it reportedly earned an estimated US$162 million ($249.3 million) at the box office during its opening weekend.
