A pedestrian has been crushed by an excavator in Queensland.
The man, aged in his 50s, was crushed by machinery at a macadamia farm in Owanyilla, on the Fraser Coast, about 3.20pm on Tuesday.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man suffered life-threatening injuries to his legs, abdomen and pelvis and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
A rescue helicopter was called and the man was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
Occupational Health and Safety Queensland said it had been made aware of the incident.
“WHSQ inspectors are responding to the incident on site with the Queensland Police Service this morning (Wednesday),” they said.
“As this is an ongoing investigation, no further comment can be made at this time.”
